STS
(Server Testing Service) is a program which can be used to test file
servers, it is designed primarily with webservers in mind (http) but it
should be cope with others as well.
The most recent release (2.1) enables you to save your settings as a
flash "cookie" which the program automatically tries to load. However
there is a slight problem should you move the location of the program
or rename it as previously stored settings will then not be loaded.
The swf version when run in a browser will not be able to run if the
server in question does not have a crossdomain.xml file allowing
access. This is done by Macromedia for security reasons, however this
can be skipped by using it as a stand alone (the .exe).

Click here to download it as an "exe".
